Teaching visitors at the Birmingham Zoo about our Hyacinth Macaw, Nut Nut

My family has had dogs and cats for my entire life, and my first personal pets were hamsters when I was 7. That menagerie quickly grew to include exotic fish, birds (including an ostrich and a flock of guineas), kinkajous, sugar gliders, flying squirrels, a coatimundi and too many reptiles and amphibians to list.

It didn’t take long before my love of animals inspired me to become a breeder. My parents took notice and encouraged me by planning many of our family vacations around different zoos, aquariums and animal breeding facilities across the United States.

At 14, I started volunteering at the Birmingham Zoo, where I educated visitors through the use of live animals, pelts, skulls, and other interactive learning aides. At 17, I became a keeper at the zoo, and also discovered my passion for feline hybrids through Caesar, my F2 jungle bob.

In 2016, I saw an opportunity for my dream to become a reality with the purchase of my African Serval, Jasper, and Savannah cats Mia and Rose.

My hopes are that combining select genetic lines with an ideal environmental setting will produce high quality kittens with great dispositions towards people and other animals.
